San Francisco - The Coming Move of God

Recently, the Holy Spirit has been speaking to me about San Francisco. A lot. And perhaps not what you expect.

Many evangelical Christians in the USA see San Francisco as the modern-day Sodom and Gomorrah. If you look around on the web you see that prophecies about the imminent destruction of the city because of its sins.

Many people claiming to be prophets ask Christians to flee the whole San Francisco Bay Area before some tsunami, fire or earthquake will sink the city into Hades.

What the Holy Spirit has been speaking to me about San Francisco is quite different.

San Francisco is a city named after St Francis of Assisi, the founder of the Franciscan Order who chose the lifestyle of radical poverty and abandonment of riches to follow Jesus.

What the Holy Spirit has been speaking to me about is that He’s getting ready to bring a renewal on San Francisco. This renewal movement will be centred on Jesus, and it will have a dimension of worship to it, but it will also usher in an era of radical abandonment for the sake of the Kingdom.

I believe that God will make San Francisco into a leading revival and renewal center in America, and that the flame that God will light up in the Bay Area will shine so brightly that it will be seen all over the world.

An important part of this move of God in the Bay Area will be strong worship. First and foremost, the Christians will gather to worship and to give Jesus His rightful place as the Lord over the city. Out of that worship, spiritual gifts and acts of love will arise.

I believe that God is getting ready to raise some very large and vibrant churches in San Francisco, and that He’s getting ready to transform the city from a ministry graveyard into a launch pad of many ministries of global significance.  Some of them will take some time to get used to, so unconventional yet groundbreaking they will be.

So, don't listen to the 'prophets' of fear; instead listen to the gentle voice of the Holy Spirit. God still has some great plans for San Francisco!
